Causes and treatment of leukoplakia

Children are often attacked with the many health problems especially dental problems because they are not aware of their bad habits and its consequences. On the other hand, adults of being aware of the healthy habits do not take care of their teeth that lead to several dental problems. These patches are hard, thick and painless. It is sensitive to touch, heat, spicy food, etc. In case, the patches are touched then it pains. Some of the common causes of leukoplakia include:

• Irritation from teeth, fillings or crowns or ill-fitting dentures that cause rubbing of the cheek against the teeth.

• Chronic smoking, drinking, or use of tobacco

• HIV/AIDS

• Oral cancer (rare)

• Lips exposure to the sun

The common treatment of these white patches cell goth is the removal of the source of irritation like teeth growth, filling or crowns. The tooth will be smoothed, and the appliances inserted should be removed from the oral cavity. However, Leukoplakia is often harmless and can be cured by the removal of the sources of irritation. It usually takes a form, of the lesion that can be easily removed by the dentist or surgeon while the treatment of hairy leukoplakia is done using antiviral medication.
